Get a glimpse of the Danish culture
Red carpet, live music and amazing atmosphere. Wednesday August 31 we attended the awards ceremony at the Danish Film Festival SVEND16,
which took place in the Danish seaport Svendborg – the same city as to which the Lars Larsen headquarters are located.
The Danish movie industry has in recent years gained considerable breakthrough internationally. The big successes of the two award winning movies “In a better world” (2010) and “The hunt” (2012),
ensured that the small Scandinavian country received honourable publicity in Hollywood. One of the current most noticeable Danish actors is Nikolaj Coster-Waldau who plays Jamie Lanister
– one of the main characters in the popular American TV-series “Game of Thrones”.
SVEND16 - After a big red carpet event, the actors Nicolai Kopernikus and Anders W. Bertelsen hosted the ceremony where 7 awards were attributed to Danish actors and filmmakers.
Some of the award winners were names such as Nikolaj Lie Kaas and Trine Dyrholm, best male and female actor of the year.
The movie “Flaskepost fra P” made by Hans Petter Moland, won best movie of the year and after an amazing live performance by singer Patrick Dorgan,
the winner-movie was shown to the audience on the big screen.
We have made a short video, to share with you a glimpse of an event that truly represents and shows the traditional Danish word ”hygge” - best translated to ”cosiness and wellbeing”.
